Description This charming scene includes a frozen pond base (out in January 2006). The Base will have complete openings (all the way through the porcelain) in which the Bambi and Thumper pieces can sit into making the surface of the ice of the base and the sculpts flush. Flower in the Burrow will sit on top of the ice base. The classic winter scene was sculpted by one of our premier sculptors, Kent Melton, and it marks the first time Kent has had an opportunity to sculpt Bambi (he was always hopeful he would have a chance).
Sculptor
Kent Melton
From day one, Kent Melton has been a sculptor for the Walt Disney Classics Collection and is regarded to be one of the most important sculptors for the collection. He tries to make his maquettes and sculptures capture the essence of the character.
Each Walt Disney Classics Collection sculpture bears a backstamp with Walt Disney's signature and production year mark. The marks symbolize major milestones in Disney history. A production mark represents the calender year during which the particular piece is made. Individual sculptures of an open edition piece may carry different marks when production continues over the years.
