Gwen Dutcher studied art at Brigham Young University before pursuing a professional career in the arts. During her years in Los Angeles, she also taught drawing techniques.
Alongside sculpture, Dutcher became involved in independent filmmaking, contributing in several different capacities including acting, producing and costume work.
This combination of drawing, sculpture and other creative disciplines reflects a career built around both two-dimensional and three-dimensional character art.

Work for the Walt Disney Classics Collection
Gwen Dutcher became a prolific contributor to the Walt Disney Classics Collection, sculpting characters from numerous animated films and participating in several of the collection's special series.
Her work included Tribute Series releases such as Listen With Your Heart from Pocahontas and From Zero to Hero from Hercules, released in 1996 and 1998 respectively.
She also sculpted special Walt Disney Collectors Society pieces, including Mickey Mouse in On Top of the World and Tinker Bell in Little Charmer, the Society's 2000 and 2001 Membership Gift sculptures.

A little story behind the artist
Gwen Dutcher sculpted the Walt Disney Collectors Society Membership Gift in two consecutive years: Mickey Mouse in On Top of the World for 2000 and Tinker Bell in Little Charmer for 2001.
The Mickey sculpture was created for the millennium and even carried a special Disney Millennium backstamp.
