In 1997, Walt Disney Art Classics introduced a new series to commemorate special moments called the Celebration Series.
The series released sculptures to welcome the birth of child, celebrate a birthday, celebrate a windfall and for that sport's enthusiast in your life.
After the initial four piece release, no further releases were released under this category.
Mickey was the only release that was expanded to a full scene release. In 1999, he was joined by Pluto and an Opening Title and a base rounded out this scene.

Each Walt Disney Classics Collection sculpture bears a backstamp with Walt Disney's signature and production year mark. The marks symbolize major milestones in Disney history. A production mark represents the calender year during which the particular piece is made.
